Fujitsu Ltd has announced IDC Japan's report, "Japan IT Outsourcing Leading Vendor Profile 2007", issued August 21, 2007, the company was no.1 in revenues in the Japanese IT outsourcing market for fiscal 2006 (the year ending March 31, 2007). This marks the third successive year in which Fujitsu has ranked no.1 in revenues in the Japanese IT outsourcing market.

Fujitsu was able to expand its sales of outsourcing services by 9.1%, outperforming the 6.7% overall growth rate in the domestic IT outsourcing market.

Fujitsu has been meeting customers' needs in Japan by offering a wide variety of IT outsourcing services. In addition to data center outsourcing, these include on-site outsourcing for operational management of systems located at customer sites, application outsourcing such as Application Portfolio Management services for the operation and maintenance of customer applications, and safety and security solutions under the SafetyRing brand for integrated risk management.

In fiscal 2006 Fujitsu expanded and deepened its involvement in the outsourcing field through such initiatives as starting operations at a newly opened BPO Center and soliciting customers for its new data center in Tokyo. This fiscal year the company is continuing to enhance its business in the outsourcing field, including the full upcoming commercial launch of SaaS (Software as a Service), among other initiatives.

Fujitsu plans to build on its achievements in this market by continuing to promote lifecycle proposals for operational services that are planned, designed and constructed from the customer's viewpoint. Moreover, Fujitsu will help its customers boost their competitiveness by broadening the scope of outsourced applications it provides through an expanded range of services fit to market and customer needs.
