    “…even though companies are taking a proactive approach to managing supply chain risks, only about half of the executives surveyed believed their companies are extremely or very effective at managing supply chain risk, including just 13% who considered their companies to be extremely effective. However, when asked which strategies have been most effective, executives most often cited building stronger relationships, building business continuity plans and developing the ability to quickly adapt the production or distribution network.”

    There is no doubt that trust is a critical factor as well as the other strategic approaches mentioned in this survey, but they are all very soft and difficult to track. This problem is so big , so expensive and wrapped up in so much legal hoopla that I feel it is almost as if the industry has given up on many of the risks they face and are rolling the dice when it comes to a solution.
