Ping Wang is a China-based IBM sourcing and procurement professional with experience in supplier development and management and sourcing strategy development and deployment working with local Chinese emerging and niche suppliers as well as global technology suppliers.

Ms. Wang’s career responsibilities span leading cross-functional and cross-Asia-regional teams in sourcing activities, developing and executing sourcing initiatives (e.g., core supplier programs), and managing supplier qualifications and evaluations.

Prior to her current purchasing and procurement role with IBM China / Hong Kong Ltd., Ms. Wang held procurement roles with IBM (China) Co., Ltd., and software engineering and project managerial responsibilities at IBM (China) Development Lab.

Ms. Wang earned her master’s degree in Germany, completing her thesis at IBM’s Germany development lab. She also has experience working at one of IBM’s labs in the United States and is interested in helping to create effective multi-cultural communication.

What I think about Foxconn
Good compnay can delivery value through its core competency. Foxconn did it, althrough there could be other fields that foxconn can improve on.

What I think about some of the emerging EMS markets or regions
Middle west of China my come up to offer more manufacturing services substituting east China.

What I think about low-cost manufacturing
Core competency of low-cost manufacturing is efficiency, accuracy and scale.

Someone I would most like to sit next to at a dinner party
My daughter. I can see her growing everyday. Whether adult can learn and improve oneself as happy and naturely as children do?
