About me ...

Michael is Assistant Director, Science and Technology Commercialization at the New York State Center for Biotechnology. Michael is responsible for developing and implementing strategic consulting, business development and technology commercialization services on behalf of medical technology companies throughout Long Island and New York State in an effort to generate positive economic impact in the form of private investments; non-dilutive government grants, job creation and corporate revenues.

Michael is also a co-manager the Innovative Technology Development (ITD) program that invests $250,000 annually in early stage medical technologies. He has significant experience in working with early-stage medical technology companies and their investors.

Previously, Michael was a senior associate at ipCapital Group, Inc. where his practice included developing and implementing intellectual property; licensing, partnership and capital fundraising strategies for medical technology companies. His practice also included conducting due diligence for venture capital firms looking to identify and mitigate the risks associated with their investments.

Michael is an adjunct faculty member at Stony Brook University College of Business where he teaches courses on technology commercialization.

Michael received a B.S. in Biology from SUNY Stony Brook, a M.S. in Neuroscience from Syracuse University, and a J.D. from Syracuse University College of Law where he was a research associate at the Technology Commercialization Research Center (TCRC).
