My thoughts on ...
What I think about Foxconn
Foxconn is just too large of an organization.

EMS companies I have worked with
When I was an engineer at ITEC Inc. in Huntsville, AL, the company was trying to enter the EMS market as we did not have enough product sales to keep our manufacturing lines busy. I thought that our management had lost their minds, and here years later I ended up working for an EMS company.

The skills I often see lacking in the EMS industry today
Empathy for the customers who have a very narrow window to get their products completed and in the field. Too many people in the EMS business tend to try to tell their customers what they need to do rather than listen to what the customer is asking to be done.

What I think about some of the emerging EMS markets or regions
I think that EMS companies in the US are poised for a recovery as overseas costs and shipping costs have increased a lot in the past three years.

What I think about low-cost manufacturing
Low cost manufacturing has other hidden costs (poor quality, shipping costs, communication costs) that often are not recognized until after the fact.

My thoughts on what makes a good program manager
Must understand all of the processes and how they must fit together from product development through production to end of life.

A book I recommend to others or am currently reading
Crown of Columbus

If I could travel back in time and witness any event one would be
The birth of our oldest son in 1981.

One of my favorite quotes
"If WalMart doesn't have it, I don't need it."

Someone I would most like to sit next to at a dinner party
George W. Bush

Some of the countries I have visited for work or play
Mexico, Canada, Chile, Jamaica, Bahamas

A helpful travel tip I often use
Pay attention at all times.

The ultimate consumer electronics product I would still like to see developed
The IPad is getting pretty close. I refuse to try one because I know I would have to purchase one shortly thereafter.

A favorite electronics gadget
LED light therapy unit called the Facial Secret. I was involved in the design and development and have used one for three years with fantastic results. I plan to be the prettiest old man in the nursing home.
