    Not entirely sure I understand the question but, as far as pro’s and con’s / being ‘bound’ by conditions at the time of quoting, sometimes its good to move with the following assumptions being asked for by, and for, the provider’s benefit:

    1. Any subsequent assembly builds, not included in a quote, are typically quoted by provider as ‘new’ business with adjusted rates, materials costs…

    2. OEM may (should?) ask that provider agrees to offer OEM ‘preferred customer’ status for future efforts in the ‘same’ product family being quoted, or other ‘sustaining’ product families.

    3. All programmable parts to be pre-programmed by OEM

    4. OEM to guarantee integrity of wave fixtures with additional procurement and / or needed servicing of fixtures (because of poor quality, poor design…) to be identified and / or managed by provider…with OEM reimbursement.

    5. $ cost for ICT fixtures, to cover ‘on-site’ maintenance by provider. Not unusual for provider to ask OEM to support all major ICT fixture maintenance through approved vendors – pending OEM approval for suggested work.

    6. One-time(?) ‘power installation requirements’ on-site provider covered by OEM.

    7. Be prepared for provider determining minimum $ amount/charge for SMT programming, per OEM assembly.

    8. EMS infrastructure estimate charges can also be anticipated. These have the potential to exceed anticipated amounts, as a project’s/product’s life warrants or, as is likely, as the EMS provider provides justification through purchase orders.
