Job Function:
- Reporting into Qualcomm Corporate Procurement
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Following established procedures, practices, and policies to contact vendors, obtain quotations, examine bids, make awards, place orders, and expedite delivery of goods/services
- Exercising good judgment and working knowledge of materials and sources of supply for local sourcing projects
- Providing information in support of annual, local, and regional agreement negotiations and global negotiations where applicable
- Executing competitive bid activities; identify cost reductions and/or quality improvements
- Maintaining all purchase orders, confidentiality agreements, terms and conditions, contracts, and all other documentation, both paper and electronic, required by purchasing policy
- Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously with high degree of accuracy
- Possessing understanding of basic accounting, budgeting practices, and aptitude to resolve AP and receiving issues
- Demonstrating ability to favorably influence competitive pricing
- Minimal travel as required to company meetings
- Capability to work effectively with minimal supervision and as a member of a team
Skills/Experience:
- Procurement professional experienced in purchasing indirect materials required to support local and regional offices.
- Ideal candidate will have 2-4 years of purchasing experience, demonstrated analytical experience, effective written and oral communication abilities, and experience with selecting suppliers.
- Experience working within a dynamic, fast paced global engineering environment
- Experience with Microsoft tools (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
- Experience working in Oracle a plus but not required
- Knowledge of local import/export regulations and requirements
- Fluent English
Education Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in a business related field required
- Advanced degree desirable
